Behind the Scenes: A Three-Day Destination Wedding

Some weddings are a single afternoon. This one unfolded over three days on a cliffside overlooking the Pacific, and every one of them offered something worth photographing.

Day One: The Rehearsal Dinner

The first evening was low-key by design — long tables strung with lights, close friends, and quiet laughter. I kept my camera close but stayed out of the way, favoring a longer lens so I could capture candid moments without anyone noticing me in the room.

Day Two: The Ceremony

The ceremony itself took place at sunset on a bluff overlooking the water. Wind and shifting light made it a technical challenge, but it also produced some of the most striking frames of the entire weekend — silhouettes, backlit veils, and a sky that did most of the work for me.

Day Three: The Send-Off

By the final morning, everyone had relaxed into the weekend. Breakfast on the terrace, a slow walk down to the shore, and a final toast before the couple left for their honeymoon. Those quiet, unplanned moments are often the ones clients treasure most once the album arrives.

Documenting a wedding across multiple days means building trust early, staying unobtrusive, and being ready for the moments that happen when no one is posing.
